Greg Cunningham is relishing the opportunity to make an impact for Nottingham Forest after joining on loan from Manchester City.

New Forest manager Steve Cotterill struck an agreement with City earlier on Tuesday to bring in the 20-year-old left-back on a deal until the end of December.
Cunningham insists he did not hesitate to take up the offer and he is now looking forward to playing for such a prestigious club.
"I first became aware of Forest's interest midway through last week and had the weekend to think about it," Cunningham told Forest's official website.
"To be honest it was a no brainer. Forest is a massive club with a great history and tradition and it's an honour to have the opportunity to play for them.
"I'm delighted to be here and can't wait for Saturday's game against Hull."

JONATHAN Greening today said he would love the honour of captaining Nottingham Forest – but only after he has earned the right to do so.

The midfielder is already thought to be high on the list of potential skippers this season, following his £600,000 move from Premier League Fulham.


But, while Greening says he would love the chance to fill the void left by the departure of Paul McKenna, he believes the captaincy is something to be earned, rather than demanded.

"I was captain at West Brom for two years," said 32-year-old Greening. "And Steve McClaren will know me well, because I have played under him for five years at Manchester United and Middlesbrough.

"But there are probably other players who deserve the captaincy more than me.

"I would rather come into the club, settle in and try to play well. I hope I can use my experience to help the team, if I can.

"But when I was captain at West Brom, it was in my fourth full season at the club.

"I knew the club at that point and, when I got the armband, I felt as though I had earned it, you know?

"I think there are a few players ahead of me in the pecking order at Forest; players who deserve it more than me.

"If the manager tells me he wants me to be captain, I am obviously not going to turn it down.

"But, as a player just coming into the club, I think you are sometimes better to have somebody who knows the club already.

"Perhaps in a couple of years' time I might get it."

Greening has signed a three-year contract at the City Ground, which could take him to his 36th birthday.

"There is plenty left in the tanks," said Greening.

"I am a fit guy and, touch wood, I have not had a major injury during my career. The longest I have been out injured is four weeks.

"And I have not missed a day of training at Fulham in two years.

"I played 230 games on the spin for West Brom in five years.

"I am quite lucky in that respect. Fingers crossed that will continue for a couple of years yet."
